## Resource

Alexander Zverev claims his second major title at the US Open, defeating Ben Shelton in a commanding final that sealed a historic moment — no American man has won a Grand Slam since 2003. Zverev, the top seed and reigning French Open champion, dominated under pressure, exploiting Shelton’s nerves and shutting down his comeback attempts despite roaring crowd support. For Shelton, the loss was heartbreakingly close — he aimed to become the first American man and first Black man since Arthur Ashe to win a Grand Slam since 1968. Zverev’s victory, marked by a stunned post-match reaction, cements his status as a multiple-major winner and extends the drought for U.S. men’s Grand Slam glory.
