## Resource

The Trump administration is back before the Supreme Court, pushing to block mail-in ballots ahead of the midterms — their third attempt — arguing that once ballots are mailed, they can’t be withdrawn and voluntary rules risk confusion. A federal judge’s recent order halting USPS enforcement of mail ballot rules has sparked this legal showdown, as states like North Carolina begin mailing ballots and others prepare to follow. The White House frames these moves as necessary mail system reforms, despite President Trump’s own use of mail voting and repeated false claims that mail ballots cost him the 2020 election. With nearly a third of voters relying on mail ballots and Congress hanging in the balance, this high-stakes legal battle could reshape how Americans vote — and whether the system remains accessible or restricted.
