## Resource

A tragic turn in East Harlem: 67-year-old Edwin Jimenez died after suffering head injuries during a violent August 24th altercation at the George Washington Carver Houses. Fellow resident Jose Santiago, 52, was stabbed multiple times and arrested alongside Jimenez. Both were charged — Jimenez with assault, Santiago with assault and weapons possession. The medical examiner’s findings are pending, but this incident underscores how quickly violence can escalate — leaving a grieving community and raising urgent questions about safety and accountability in the neighborhood.
