## Resource

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are pounding New York City and surrounding areas today, with flash flood warnings already active in North Jersey and Southern Connecticut—now cleared but still a caution. Forecasters predict 1-2 inches of rain, possibly up to 3 inches, driven by a warm front moving east. The worst is expected to ease by midday, with gradual clearing afternoons, though flooding has already hit vulnerable spots like basements. Officials urge prep for potential water damage—especially if you’re in low-lying or flood-prone zones. Stay dry, stay safe, and keep an eye on the sky as the storm rolls out.
