## Resource

Belmont Park is back—and bigger than ever, after a $550 million transformation that’s turned it into a full-blown entertainment destination. Shut down for over three years, the historic racetrack now boasts an all-weather surface, a 10,000-seat grandstand that can expand to hold 100,000 for major events, and flexible spaces for concerts and community gatherings. Governor Hochul hailed the project, which received a $450 million state loan, as a $155 million annual economic engine and job creator, positioning it as a global racing hub and community centerpiece. With new dining, bars, and green spaces, it’s designed to deliver the in-person experiences people craved post-pandemic. Located next to the UBS Arena, it’s also a major tourism draw for Long Island, with NYRA’s CEO calling it vital to the future of horse racing—a sport deeply rooted in New York, just like Saratoga.
