What if God gave you everything you ever wanted—the perfect career, financial wealth, a beautiful family, and total comfort—but subtracted Himself from the equation? In this powerful episode, Pastor Paul Zink II unpacks Psalm 106:15, warning against the danger of getting what we want at the cost of "leanness of soul". Drawing from Exodus 33, the message highlights Moses’ refusal to enter the Promised Land if God’s presence wasn't going with them. While the children of Israel were content with just the blessings, Moses knew that the physical provision meant nothing without the Blesser. This episode challenges listeners to shift from a surface-level, consumer-driven faith to a life completely consumed by the fire of God’s presence. KEY HIGHLIGHTS & TIMESTAMPS: 02:15 The Danger of a Lean Soul: Exploring how complaining and chasing selfish ambition leads to spiritual emptiness. 05:40 Moses and the Tabernacle Fire: Why Moses told God, "Unless you go with us, we're not going at all". 11:10 The Screwtape Letters Warning: A look at C.S. Lewis’s brilliant insight on how the enemy creates an "ever-increasing craving for an ever-diminishing pleasure". 16:30 Ichabod vs. Emmanuel: Moving past the lie that God's glory has departed and standing firm on the truth that He will never forsake you. 21:45 Individual Responsibility: Fanning your own spiritual flame daily rather than relying on others to keep your fire lit. 5 KEYS TO KEEP YOUR SPIRITUAL FIRE LIT: According to Leviticus 6:12-13, the fire on the altar must be kept burning continuously. Pastor Paul breaks down the 5 types of "spiritual wood" needed to fuel your passion for Christ: Obedience: Aligning your daily actions and long-term vision with God's word, even when it requires stepping out in faith and taking risks.
