## Resource

Mekhi Nelson is back on the field for Nebraska after his legal issues were dropped, poised to compete for the starting running back job. Once sidelined as a major question mark, his return brings crucial leadership and production to a backfield that lacked top-tier experience. Last season’s limited workload could balloon to ten carries per game, mirroring his standout Las Vegas Bowl performance. But with stiff competition from Isaiah Mozee, Kwinten Ives, transfer Tikey Hayes, and a flashy freshman, the starting role isn’t guaranteed. The Huskers will use their first three games to evaluate the group, with a strong rushing attack and new QB making this battle a key storyline as the season unfolds.
