## Resource

The Houston Rockets are poised for a major leap with Kevin Durant back in the fold and Fred VanVleet returning from injury — a dynamic duo that could finally break their playoff ceiling. Last season’s first-round exit exposed their over-reliance on Durant, but with VanVleet’s veteran playmaking and Amen Thompson’s breakout year (including a huge contract extension), the team is building a more balanced attack. Thompson’s defensive prowess and rising game make him a cornerstone, while Alperen Şengün continues his All-Star surge. Veteran Marcus Smart adds depth, and Steven Adams’ return gives them a physical edge. With Durant’s future uncertain, the Rockets are banking on this roster to be a true playoff contender in a brutal West — if they can just keep pace with the stars and avoid repeating last year’s mistakes.
