## Resource

New Rutherford County Mayor Randy Allen is under fire for swift personnel moves, including firing Joe Carr’s son from an engineering inspector role — a decision sparking ethics concerns and liability worries amid the county’s nepotism policy. Former Commissioner Anthony Johnson also criticized restructuring changes like altered reporting lines and a slashed salary for the newly created Public Information Officer role, arguing major shifts should require commission approval. Former Mayor Carr slammed the speed of the changes, calling them unwise without full evaluation, while Allen defended his actions as necessary for efficiency and fiscal responsibility. Despite tensions, Johnson closed on a hopeful note, wishing the mayor and commission success through cooperation.
