## Resource

An 83-year-old Tennessee man, Joseph Anthony Scrofne, was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his 81-year-old wife, Linda — a crime he initially claimed was an accident but later confessed to planning. After a three-day trial, the jury found him guilty of premeditated murder, and he received a mandatory life sentence. Authorities say the case was solved through meticulous investigation by local law enforcement and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, with crucial support from the victim’s family.
