## Resource

This episode details the criminal case of Jade Jinx, a San Diego woman convicted of first-degree murder for the death of her former stepfather, Tom Marman. The conflict began when Jinx discovered hundreds of nonconsensual nude photographs of herself on Marman’s computer, which she viewed as a profound betrayal of their close relationship. According to the transcript, Jinx drugged and strangled Marman before hiding his body under a pile of trash in their shared driveway. Although the defense argued that Jinx merely panicked and that Marman died of an accidental overdose, prosecutors utilized incriminating text messages to prove the killing was a premeditated act. The jury ultimately rejected the defense's claims, leading the judge to sentence Jinx to 25 years to life in prison. This overview highlights the tragic intersection of personal violation, planned revenge, and the legal consequences of taking justice into one's own hands.
