## Resource

The episode details the arrest of Andrew Charles Beard, a Texas man accused of murdering his former partner, Alyssa Burkett, during a violent confrontation outside her workplace. Authorities allege that Beard utilized blackface makeup and a synthetic beard to disguise his identity while shooting and stabbing the victim following a tense custody dispute. Investigators linked the suspect to the crime through electronic tracking devices found on the victim's car and a disguise discovered in an abandoned vehicle near his home. Witnesses originally described a different suspect, but physical evidence such as makeup foundation and burned wipes led police to charge Beard with the killing. This tragic event occurred just days after a court granted the victim legal custody of their young daughter. Beard is currently held on a million-dollar bond while their child remains in state protective services.
