## Resource

This episode details the long-term investigation into the brutal 2002 murder of Robert Carabio, whose charred remains were discovered inside a trunk on a Michigan blueberry farm. For over a decade, the victim remained an unidentified John Doe until his stepdaughter provided a tip that implicated her mother, Beverly McCallum, and an accomplice. The subsequent inquiry revealed a cold-blooded plot to kill Robert in his basement before burning his body to conceal the crime. Despite fleeing to Pakistan and Italy to evade capture, McCallum was eventually extradited and faced a jury in 2024. The legal proceedings concluded with her conviction and sentencing, finally providing closure for the victim’s biological daughter. This case highlights the persistence of detectives who utilized documentaries and forensic evidence to solve a cold case that had haunted the community for years.
