## Resource

Ian Brennan discusses the creation of "Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story," detailing how he and Ryan Murphy selected the famous historical case for season four of their hit Netflix true-crime anthology. Brennan explains that after abandoning a more recent story, they decided to explore female rage by centering the narrative on Lizzie Borden, alongside figures like Elizabeth Bathory and Aileen Wuornos. He highlights the extensive casting process that led to Ella Beatty securing the lead role, as well as the return of familiar collaborators like Charlie Hunnam and Vicky Krieps. Furthermore, the creators outline an ambitious 10-season plan for the franchise, emphasizing that finding compelling subjects remains the primary challenge of the production process.
