## Resource

A 19-year-old babysitter in Kentucky named Elijah Mayes has been arrested and charged with murder after an 11-month-old infant was discovered dead inside a piece of furniture. Law enforcement officials found the victim, Grayson Walton, hidden within a couch and bearing visible signs of physical trauma, including bruises and bite marks. Authorities allege that the suspect attempted to hide his involvement by creating a fictitious alibi involving a fake text message exchange. In addition to the primary homicide charge, Mayes faces accusations of tampering with evidence and abusing a corpse. A second individual, identified as the baby's step-grandfather, was also detained for allegedly assisting in the concealment of the crime. Under the weight of this tragedy, the local community recently organized a vigil to honor the young child's memory.
