## Resource

The episode details the brutal interrogation and confession of Fidel Lopez, who murdered his girlfriend, Maria Nemoth, in 2015. During a drunken sexual encounter, Lopez became enraged when Nemoth twice whispered her ex-husband’s name, leading him to a violent rampage where he destroyed their apartment. He ultimately committed a vicious physical assault, causing catastrophic internal injuries by forcibly removing her organs. Throughout the police interview, Lopez initially offers conflicting stories and claims of memory loss before admitting his anger was fueled by the mention of the other man. Forensic evidence and neighbor testimony contradicted his narrative of rough sex gone wrong, exposing the incident as a prolonged, intentional attack. Lopez eventually expresses remorse but is confronted with the severe reality of the crime as detectives push for the truth behind his girlfriend's death.
