## Resource

Maria Eugenia Munoz, a dedicated mother and nurse who relocated to Texas with her husband Hoel, suffered years of emotional turmoil after discovering his long-term extramarital affair. Despite Maria attempting to seek a divorce and plan a fresh start, she was tragically found dead in her home following what Hoel initially claimed was a prescription pill overdose. However, subsequent autopsies and thorough police investigations revealed a lethal combination of hospital-grade anesthetics and painkillers in her system, pointing directly to Hoel's access and expertise as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. His suspicious behavior, alongside damaging testimony from his mistress Janet, ultimately exposed his calculated scheme to eliminate his wife rather than face separation. Following a swift jury trial, Hoel was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment, bringing a measure of justice to Maria's grieving family.
