## Resource

The episode recounts the criminal investigation into the disappearance and death of Amber Zado, a Colorado mother initially feared to have committed suicide. Although her husband, Keith Zado, claimed she walked away following a dispute over infidelity and financial mismanagement, authorities discovered her body hidden in a trash can within the family garage. Evidence of blood spatter and a recovered firearm contradicted the staged suicide note and the husband's claims of an alcohol-induced blackout. Testimony from Keith’s sister eventually revealed that he had confessed to shooting his wife after discovering their home was in foreclosure. Ultimately, a jury rejected the defense's argument of involuntary intoxication, leading to Keith's conviction for first-degree murder. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2019 slaying.
