## Resource

This report details the chilling case of Devin Wolfgang Vanderhoef, a Canadian man sentenced to two consecutive life terms for the attempted murder of a couple in California. After developing a year-long online obsession with a woman through video gaming, Vanderhoef traveled across the border and posed as an Amazon delivery driver to orchestrate a violent home invasion. Armed with a kit of weapons and restraints, he attacked the woman and her boyfriend, but the couple managed to fight back in self-defense until authorities arrived. The narrative highlights the severe legal consequences of premeditated violence and serves as a somber warning about the potential for digital fixations to escalate into real-world danger. Ultimately, the episode emphasizes the resilience of the survivors and the thorough interstate investigation that ensured the attacker would remain incarcerated for the rest of his life.
