## Resource

A viral video shows a 40-year-old Indigenous woman, Rose Angus, being violently arrested by Saskatchewan RCMP on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation — including punches and a taser — sparking outrage and demands for accountability from Indigenous leaders. Officers say she became confrontational after arresting two men, but community voices and advocates call the force unacceptable. The RCMP initially deemed the use of force reasonable, but public pressure led the province to escalate the case to its Serious Incident Response Team for an independent probe. Angus faces multiple charges, including assault on officers and drug possession, as calls grow for dignity, respect, and justice for Indigenous women.
