## Resource

Quebec’s election authorities and Premier Christine Fréchette are under fire for excluding English-language voting instructions, replacing printed guides with QR codes that leave seniors, tech-averse voters, and those in poverty — including a quarter of English-speaking Quebecers living below the poverty line — at a serious disadvantage. Critics call it voter suppression, arguing it treats English speakers as second-class citizens and undermines democracy by creating an economic and technological barrier to participation. The backlash is growing, with many vowing to never forget this move — as Quebec actively makes voting harder for its English-speaking population ahead of the next election.
