## Resource

Prime Minister Mark Carney made a heartfelt visit to Alberta, shaking hands with “Forever Canadian” volunteers and even writing a message of unity on their campaign vehicle—“Canada is everyone and for everyone”—as the province braces for a pivotal referendum on October 19th. Though Carney hasn’t campaigned directly, he’s urging Albertans to vote to stay, framing Canada as worth fighting for. Former deputy premier Thomas Lukaszuk expects Carney to ramp up personal involvement and calls for more federal Conservative engagement, stressing this isn’t partisan. Federal ministers, including Emergency Management Minister Eleanor Olszewski, say they won’t dictate votes but are encouraging turnout to remain. Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas praised Carney’s community-focused approach, calling it a genuine effort to build unity through listening—not just policy.
