## Resource

Alex Newhook just signed a four-year, $22 million deal with the Canadiens — averaging $5.5M annually — locking in the speedy forward for the next half-decade. Acquired from Colorado in 2023 to boost offense, he battled injuries last season but delivered 13 goals and 12 assists in 42 games when healthy, plus seven goals and three assists in the playoffs. A versatile scorer who can play center or wing, he ranks third on the team in points per 60 minutes — though his faceoff win rate lags below 43%. Despite that, Montreal sees his upside and is betting big on his future, especially since he’s a proud Newfoundland native.
