## Resource

Montreal Canadiens snagged veteran Chris Kreider on a one-year deal, but GM Kent Hughes isn’t stopping there—still eyeing a top-six forward for 2026-27. Rumors swirl around Ryan O’Reilly, though analysts debate his age, expiring contract, and Nashville’s steep price tag. Instead, insiders suggest targeting a younger center to pair with Montreal’s rising stars, while waiting for prospects like Michael Hage. O’Reilly’s future is uncertain—he’s reportedly seeking a quieter role—and may not want to return to Montreal anyway. Meanwhile, defenseman Kaiden Guhle’s adductor surgery sidelines him for 4-5 weeks.
