## Resource

Royalton is poised to decide whether to legalize retail cannabis sales after Shannon Morrill, a Bethel dispensary owner, successfully pushed for the issue to appear on the November ballot. While some town officials want a petition first, the Selectboard agreed — sparking debate over public safety, youth access, and regulation. Concerns include intoxicated patrons, edible safety, crime, and odor, but Morrill counters with strict security, ID checks, ventilation, and education — arguing her store would boost local business and address unregulated use already happening. With no direct tax revenue for Royalton, a second forum is set for October 1st, and Morrill pledges to respect the outcome while ensuring voters get accurate info.
