## Resource

Plattsburgh, New York is considering a temporary halt on new crypto operations to protect its energy supply—these massive mining facilities are gobbling up nearly half of the city’s power allotment. Mayor Wendell Hughes says the move isn’t about stifling innovation, but ensuring residents and local businesses aren’t left in the dark. This isn’t the first time: Plattsburgh pioneered this pause back in 2018. Now, with county approval looming, the city aims to strike a balance between tech growth and energy sustainability.
