## Resource

Liverpool’s fearless young duo, Lewis Koumas and James McConnell, delivered a breakout performance against Tottenham, proving their explosive energy is exactly what manager Andoni Iraola has been craving. With ten starters benched—including big-money signings—these 20- and 22-year-olds stepped up with relentless pressing, intelligent movement, and game-changing intensity. Koumas dominated off the ball while McConnell ran tirelessly in unfamiliar territory, turning the midfield into an engine room. Even veteran Dominik Szoboszlai praised their work ethic, calling for more regular minutes. Iraola, who’s long admired Koumas’s infectious drive, saw his vision come to life as Liverpool won possession in the final third eight times—double their average. The message is clear: forwards must press high to unlock Liverpool’s full potential. Now, facing Iraola’s former club Bournemouth this Sunday, the challenge is whether he can replicate his trademark high-energy style faster than he did at his old stomping grounds—by trusting players built for it.
