## Resource

João Pedro’s knee injury from last weekend’s draw against Hull City has cast doubt over his availability for Friday’s clash with Brentford — enough to sideline him from Brazil’s friendly squad. But Chelsea’s Xabi Alonso is keeping things tight-lipped, saying “No” when asked directly about Pedro’s status, preferring to wait until final training to make decisions. Still, Pedro’s been vital this season, chipping in six goal involvements in four games and starting every Premier League match — making him a clear first-choice. If he can’t play, Danny Welbeck (three goals in cups when rested) or debut-ready Emmanuel Emegha could step in. The final call? Waiting for the last training session.
