## Resource

A rookie pitcher’s big league debut turned into a national controversy when an umpire called him out for wearing his cap crooked — only to later be told by the league he overstepped his authority. The umpire claimed a Rockies hitter asked about the cap, but team sources deny it ever happened. With no official rule on cap alignment, the incident spiraled as the umpire apologized after being reprimanded — raising questions about his honesty and whether this moment will fade or spark bigger changes in how umpires handle player appearances.
