## Resource

Corbin Carroll is set to return Friday night against the Rangers after a brief back injury setback, eager to play over DHing — and his presence could be the spark Arizona’s struggling offense needs. The 24-year-old’s return comes after an MRI confirmed a treatable issue, with symptoms flaring during the Phillies series. With Arizona hitting just .219 and scoring few runs, Carroll’s speed and power could shift momentum. The pitching matchup pits Merrill Kelly (returning to face his former team) against MacKenzie Gore, who previously dominated the D-backs. The series continues Saturday (Pfaadt vs. Rocker) and Sunday (Rodriguez vs. Quantrill), with the Diamondbacks’ offensive revival hinging on Carroll’s impact.
