## Resource

Brett Baty’s Mets tenure hangs in the balance as his inconsistent 2024 campaign—marked by flashes of brilliance and prolonged slumps—raises doubts about his future. Forced into a utility role across multiple positions, his offensive production has suffered, hitting just .223 with a low OPS. His best year came when he played every day at third base, but with emerging talent and potential roster changes looming, that consistency may be slipping away. Recent hot streaks offer hope, but they’re a familiar pattern—short-lived bursts followed by dips. The Mets must decide if his versatility is still worth keeping around—or if it’s time to look elsewhere before the season ends.
