## Resource

San Diego Padres cut ties with catcher Blake Hunt, who’s now a free agent after being designated for assignment. Though he flashed power and a solid bat in the minors — especially this season — his major league debut was brief and brutal: three plate appearances, all strikeouts. With the trade deadline past, a deal wasn’t possible, leaving him to explore opportunities ahead, likely targeting 2025 or beyond as he seeks his big league breakthrough.
