## Resource

The Minnesota Wild are stacking their support staff with new hires like massage therapist Andrew Nolan and strength coaches Ben Klein and Bryan Rohrbach, signaling a serious push to build a championship-caliber backend. But the real drama? How they’ll handle big-name signings like Quinn Hughes. With Cale Makar’s eight-year deal now a rarity, the Wild must decide: can they afford to lock Hughes in for seven years—or will a shorter, cheaper contract be the smarter play? Balancing Hughes’ top-tier salary with Kaprizov’s cap hit is a tightrope walk. And while stars are getting paid more, history shows no Cup champ has relied on a single $10M+ player—winning’s still about depth, not just dollars.
