## Resource

Quinn Hughes is entering the final year of his contract and could hit free agency in July, but he’s taking his time — no pressure, no rush. Captaining the Wild, winning Olympic gold with brother Jack, and leading them to their first playoff series win in a decade, Hughes is focused on recharging this summer while staying sharp. He’s open to re-signing with Minnesota, calling the locker room “special,” and has no intention of being forced into a deal. With top defensemen commanding big contracts like Cale Makar’s $20M+ deal, Hughes may prefer a three-year pact to align with his brothers’ careers. His agent Pat Brisson, known for landing elite deals, is in talks with GM Bill Guerin — who, like last year with Kaprizov, isn’t panicking over fan anxiety. Hughes is healthy, motivated, and ready to dominate the upcoming season — and whatever contract comes next will happen when it’s right.
