## Resource

Cale Makar’s blockbuster eight-year deal sparks debate about future superstar contracts like Quinn Hughes’, as league rules change in September—making this potentially the last of its kind. While Hughes might aim for a seven-year commitment, teams won’t shell out $20M+ for short terms; it’s unsustainable. Teams like Minnesota dream of signing Hughes but face tough financial choices—can they afford both him and Kaprizov at that level? And while big salaries are rising, history shows no Cup winner has relied on a single $10M+ player—balance and team chemistry remain king.
