## Resource

Quinn Hughes’s contract talks with the Wild are heating up, with insider Elliotte Friedman suggesting a potential $20M annual deal—comparable to Cale Makar’s—and hinting Hughes may prefer a shorter, three-year term to align with his brother Jack’s free agency in 2030. But GM Bill Guerin wants to lock him down long-term, ideally for eight years like Kaprizov’s deal, before the Sept. 15 deadline—or risk losing their star defenseman and closing a championship window.
