## Resource

A cow in Brown County, Minnesota has tested positive for rabies after showing alarming symptoms like drooling, paralysis, and fever — leading to its euthanasia. Nine people who had contact with the animal, including family members and vets, are now receiving post-exposure vaccines. Thirteen other cows, plus a horse and unvaccinated cats, are under quarantine or being monitored, while experts suspect the cow was bitten by a wild carrier like a skunk or bat. Health officials urge farmers to prioritize biosecurity and protective gear when handling sick animals — because once rabies symptoms appear, it’s almost always fatal.
