## Resource

Starting this week, the Pentagon is launching mandatory testosterone screenings for all male service members aged 30 and older, viewing low T as a key factor in combat readiness. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth championed the move, with diagnosed cases leading to follow-up tests and potential treatment. Men under 30 can opt-in annually. The goal? Boost physical strength, mood, bone density, and heart health—critical for mission performance. Military stressors like high tempo, sleep disruption, and blast exposure may contribute to declining hormone levels, even sparking concerns around “Operator Syndrome.” While focused on men, female service members will also be screened for hormonal imbalances, making this a holistic push to optimize every warfighter’s health and readiness.
