## Resource

FIFA’s bold plan to sell a 20% stake in its new commercial arm, FIFA Forward Enterprise, to private investors—including a Kushner-linked firm—has collapsed amid firestorm backlash. Originally pitched as a $20 billion valuation to fund member nations with $20 million every four years (up from $8 million), the scheme triggered immediate condemnation from UEFA, CONCACAF, and AFC, who called the World Cup unsellable and questioned the need for private equity after last year’s record profits. Internal dissent mounted too, with one of Infantino’s top advisors resigning over ethical concerns, and Infantino himself admitting the project lacked majority support. The controversy comes as FIFA faces renewed scrutiny over Infantino’s ties to former President Trump, especially following the controversial red card review that was later overturned.
