## Resource

A 25-year-old man, Jacob Lee Thatcher, faces criminal vehicular homicide charges after a deadly head-on crash on Highway 59 that killed 51-year-old Basro Hassan Abokar. Wet roads, alcohol consumption, and medications reportedly heightened his impairment, while witnesses say his car veered erratically before impact. Thatcher claimed mechanical issues—including unbalanced tires and bad calipers—contributed to loss of control, and he admitted to smoking marijuana the night before. Authorities have obtained a blood test warrant, results pending. Abokar is remembered by Walmart coworkers as kind and dedicated, with heartfelt condolences extended to her loved ones.
