## Resource

Elena Rybakina stunned Aryna Sabalenka in a gripping three-set U.S. Open final to claim her first Grand Slam title on home soil, dethroning the long-reigning No. 1 and ending Sabalenka’s 19-match winning streak at Flushing Meadows. With this win, Rybakina not only secures the top ranking but also adds to her growing legacy — she’d already beaten Sabalenka at the Australian Open earlier this year. Known for her thunderous serve, Rybakina turned up the heat with an exceptional return game, forcing Sabalenka into errors as the Belarusian star fell short of becoming the first since Serena Williams to capture three straight U.S. Opens. Despite the loss, Sabalenka still walked away with a hefty paycheck — but the trophy meant everything. For Rybakina, this victory marks her third major and brings her one step closer to a career Grand Slam. Remarkably, she battled through minor injury and forged a new connection with New York — a city that’s now firmly in her sights.
