## Resource

A former Mesa PTO treasurer is facing felony theft charges after allegedly siphoning nearly $10,000 from the Whitman Elementary account for personal use—including Disney tickets, car repairs, and rent—while managing funds from August 2022 to January 2025. She reportedly admitted to the misuse during an interview, and her first court date is set for September 21st. This case underscores the critical need for oversight in community fundraising roles.
