## Resource

Eastern Australia is bracing for a wild spring weather rollercoaster as record-breaking heat sweeps through Sydney and Brisbane, temperatures flirting with summer levels. A tropical air mass is pushing south ahead of a major system that’s also packing damaging winds up to 100 km/h along coasts and thunderstorms in Victoria and NSW. Fire danger is extreme in parts of NSW due to dry conditions, prompting strict fire bans. Meanwhile, rain arrives further south — enough to cause river rises in northern Victoria and Tasmania, and maybe even a dusting of snow in the alps — though it won’t revive the ski season. Cooler air will move in by Sunday night, but this intense, unpredictable weather is a stark warning of shifting climate patterns.
