## Resource

A Melbourne man, Chee Kit Chong, has been jailed for six years after being convicted of enslaving a vulnerable 60-year-old woman — forcing her to live in squalor, work without pay, and endure threats of violence. The abuse spanned months before she escaped in 2022; the victim later died from natural causes. The judge called his actions “callous and cruel,” noting he exploited her helplessness. Chong will serve at least four years before parole and is likely to be deported to Malaysia. His wife was acquitted of aiding him. This case exposes how modern slavery can lurk undetected within our own communities. Listen in comfort: Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
