## Resource

Yarra Council has axed Lime’s six-year e-bike trial, citing poor bike cleanup and rider management — despite Lime raking in cash while the council saw nothing. But local group Streets Alive Yarra is furious, calling the tender rules absurd, like mandatory 10-second phone responses 24/7 and footing all unknown council costs. Lime’s execs agree: the rules are unworkable and drove away competitors. Council stands by its tough stance, demanding future programs be cost-neutral — leaving e-bikes’ return in Yarra uncertain.
