## Resource

A former employee of Australia’s prestigious medical research institute, The Florey, is suing the organization over alleged misuse of government and donor funds — claiming money was diverted from research to other purposes. The legal drama erupted after The Florey initially sued Tran for allegedly stealing and deleting thousands of pages of research. Tran denies those claims and counters with accusations of institutional misconduct, saying he raised concerns while employed and faced pressure to quit. He alleges others shared similar experiences, hinting at a broader pattern. The Florey’s legal team dismisses Tran’s allegations as a “tirade,” pointing to inconsistencies in his statements and noting he resigned while on personal leave — a detail they argue contradicts his forced-exit narrative. With Tran seeking more time to file his case — which he missed — the court is now weighing both procedural and substantive issues in this high-stakes, messy legal battle.
