## Resource

For the first time ever, electric vehicles have outsold petrol cars in Australia, with over 27,000 EVs sold in August—nearly a quarter of all new car sales. This historic shift is driven by rising fuel costs due to global tensions and Australia’s new emissions standards, pushing consumers toward cleaner, cheaper transport. Minister Chris Bowen calls it a landmark moment, signaling a future where EVs aren’t just an option—but the norm.
