## Resource

Australia just leaped to 8 in the Global Gender Gap Report — its best ever ranking — thanks to more women in politics, better parental leave, and rising wages for female-dominated jobs. But the government warns the work isn’t done, with ongoing focus on pay equity, violence against women, and representation. Meanwhile, Immigration Minister’s big announcement today at the National Press Club will reshape Australia’s migration policy: tighter rules for international students bringing families, lower overall intake, and a move away from demand-driven visas — all aimed at managing net migration without hurting the economy.
