## Resource

A guy named Neil Grady splurged on luxury at a fancy spa hotel, dropping £760 on champagne and dinner — all on his room tab — before vanishing without paying. He left without settling the bill, which ballooned to over £1,260, including the room and food. Despite giving his real name and address, he was caught on CCTV already intoxicated when he checked in. His lawyer argued he wasn’t trying to skip out, and he’s already working to repay the debt. Still, he got a 12-month community order, 72 hours of unpaid work, 15 days of rehab, and is on the hook for the full bill plus £500+ in fees.
