## Resource

A couple got engaged on a rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, sparking viral joy—and some online backlash. Nicolle Henderson and Derek Cowan, both 34, chose the Avalanche ride for its sentimental value—it was where Nicolle first rode as a child. The park granted them private access before opening to the public, complete with champagne. Despite critics calling it “sad” or “low end,” the couple is thrilled, calling it “perfect.” They’re even planning a Blackpool wedding. Park director Andy Hygate praised their moment, joking about future coaster proposals. It’s a sweet reminder: love matters more than strangers’ opinions.
